I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, where my parents introduced me to Jesus at an early age. I first understood the gospel and my need for it when I was seven years old. As a teenager, I was active in a wonderful youth group at my church, where I stayed involved in many ministries and continued to grow in my faith and understanding of God’s Word.
After high school, knowing I had an empathy for people, I attended a four-year Bible college where I earned a B.S. in Biblical Theology and a second B.S. in Counseling. After college, I moved from my small town to take a job as a foster care social worker in inner-city Philadelphia. For the next decade, I worked in social services in and around Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware.
During that time, I was involved in my local church—leading music, organizing events for young adults, and facilitating women’s Bible studies and small groups. In 2008, I married my husband, Randy, whom I met at church in 2004, and God has since given us two lovely daughters, born in 2013 and 2018.
Since becoming a mom, I’ve devoted my love and energy to being at home with our girls and serving in the churches we’ve attended as a women’s Bible study leader, diaconal associate, and event planner. God brought our family to Cornerstone in early 2024, and we immediately felt at home, knowing this was the church we had been praying for.
In my free time, I love planning (or going on!) my next adventure. I enjoy traveling to experience new places, taking in God’s beautiful creation, and SCUBA diving in the oceans of the world. When I’m home, you’ll usually find me reading and snuggling with my kids. I also really enjoy conversation that goes below the surface, all things music (singing and listening), a really good sunset, the ocean, and quality time with the people I love.
My favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31, which reminds me that God gives His children the perseverance to face life’s many challenges and griefs. Another verse I try to live by is one my dad often repeated to me, Matthew 10:16. It encourages me to use wisdom while remaining gentle and harmless as I navigate life’s relationships and difficulties.
