Livestream Service and Day of Prayer and Fasting
We will hold a livestream Good Friday worship service at 6:30pm. We join with our denomination (the PCA), the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC), the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA), and other denominations in a Call for a Day of Prayer and Fasting. We want to use this time to humble ourselves and seek God’s face, praying for our church, nation, and world, especially in light of COVID-19. For those who are able, we are calling for a fast to begin at noon Friday and to be broken with breakfast on Saturday morning. Consider donating food or the money you would have spent on dinner to help those in need, e.g. Family Promise, The Bridge food pantry, Lighthouse Youth Center, Cornerstone Mercy Ministry Fund.
Prayer Vigil
We invite you to sign up to pray for a half hour between 12:00 noon on Friday and 8:00am on Saturday. The goal is for us to have 20 hours of continuous prayer asking for the Lord’s mercies during this global pandemic. You may download suggested prayers for the nation and world and a brief prayer guide that explains the why and how of fasting. We invite you to share church-wide prayer requests by emailing the office at office@cornerstonepca.com with subject line “Good Friday Prayer” (deadline is Thursday, April 9th), or posting on our private Facebook Group. A prayer request sheet from our church and missionaries will be available next Friday. Suggested Scriptures for the Day of Prayer and Fasting follow.
