Sabbatical Plans
I am very thankful that the Session has offered me and my family a break this summer to be recharged for a new season of ministry as Cornerstone prepares to launch Vision 2030.
I look forward to some time to pray, to love on my family, to soak in God’s creation, and to rest. This summer will provide an opportunity for me to spend some time with my Mom, who has been confined to a wheelchair and suffering from catatonia since the fall of 2023. I also look forward to reading a parenting book with Ginny and getting some extra time with my kids. We have planned two special vacation trips as a family – in June to the White Mountains, NH (where we honeymooned 22 years ago this fall) and in July to Rocky Mountain National Park (CO), the Black Hills, and the Badlands (SD). You might hear some interesting sermon and Sunday School illustrations in the fall!
Like Pastor Billy, I plan to use this time to visit some other churches in our area and learn from what they are doing.
I hope to return in the fall with fresh vigor and energy to launch into Vision 2030.
