- What do you think John means when he says, “test the spirits?” In what ways do we go about testing the spirits?
- What is the danger of not recognizing the true nature of spiritual forces arrayed against God’s people?
- What is the “spirit of the antichrist?” What does this tell us about the seriousness of the opposition we face?
- Should Christians be afraid of the antichrist? Why or why not?
- What reasons for confidence does John give us in verse 4? Which of these is most helpful for you as you face your own challenges? How so?
- What would it look like for you to really press into this reason for confidence?
- How can we encourage one another as we engage in the battle that is set before each of us?
