Into Mature Disciples of Jesus Christ

Ephesians 4:11-16   |   Sermon Resources   |   25 April 2021

Sermon Summary

In the sermon this week Pastor Billy explores the vision of the church “to make mature disciples of Jesus Christ.”  Using Ephesians 4:11-16 we will see the Apostle Paul’s vision for growth in the church, God’s plan to see it happen, and the role we play.  This is sermon 2 in our series, Transformed: How the Love of God Changes Us.

Our Vision:

To see the love of God transform people into mature disciples of Jesus Christ who love God above all else and who sacrificially love others

  3. What does Paul say in this passage about how the body of Christ is built up? Why might some people find this surprising?
  4. Do you tend to see yourself as God’s representative (or Christ’s ambassador) where he has called you?  Why or why not? What would it take for you to see yourself in this role?
  5. What might change if you really believed God’s primary plan was to work through you to build others up in Christ?
  6. What does it mean to speak the truth in love? Share an example of a time someone did this for you.  What happened?  What was the result?
