Bob Rowan

Although Bob was raised in a Christian home, his Christianity was all “head knowledge” until he graduated from college. It was then that Christ’s love changed his heart and became life changing to him. Bob met his wife Gail while they both worked as volunteer leaders for Young Life in several high schools in Delaware County. They were married in 1977 and just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. He currently works as a chemist for 3M.

Bob and Gail have been involved in numerous ministries through the years, often working as partners.  In addition to Young Life, they were also volunteer leaders for Youth for Christ for a short time when they first moved to Delaware. They were also involved in teaching 5th and 6th grade Sunday School, Junior Church,  and led the Junior High Youth Ministry at Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Bob has been a Deacon for both EP Church as well as Cornerstone, working primarily in the area of Mercy Ministries. Bob and Gail have been leading a home group for several years and Bob has been involved in Cornerstone’s Music Ministry for 19 years. They both enjoy housing international students from the English Language Institute at the University of Delaware.  Bob and Gail use this as an opportunity to share the gospel and show God’s love to students from all over the world.

Bob and Gail’s younger son, Jeff, attends Cornerstone and is involved as an usher and in the nursery.  Their older son, Brian, died 18 years ago at the age of 18.  The struggles they went through with Brian’s addiction and death resulted in both a stronger marriage and a more urgent desire to minister to others and help those who have suffered through significant loss.

Bob hopes to approach this office with a heart of humility and a love for the people of this congregation.
