Other than nursery, we believe in the importance of all our kids worshipping with their parents and other adults, building relationships with older generations, and identifying themselves as part of the larger church community.

Therefore we have resisted the frequent practice of children joining a separate group as soon as they enter on Sunday morning.  We want them to learn they “belong”.

However, we recognize our younger children will be very limited in their comprehension during the pastor’s message.  Accordingly parents have the option of dismissing these children to “Children’s Church,” where they hear a lesson on the same Scripture passage Pastor Billy is preaching on.  Children are dismissed into three groups – Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4, Kindergarten and 1st Grade, and 2nd and 3rd Grade.  The Pre-K class hears a simple summary of their Sunday School lesson and then completes an activity and coloring sheet. They are also working on memory verses. The older children discuss the sermon passage in kid-friendly terms, complete activities, and memorize verses. The 2nd and 3rd grade class also have journals where they record their thoughts from week to week. One of the goals of Children’s Church is to give families the opportunity to discuss the Scriptures together.
