Sermon Summary

Pastor Billy continues the sermon series on the Lord's Prayer this week coming to the third petition, your will be done.  In the sermon we will consider how praying this prayer leads to living a life of surrender.

Discussion Questions

  1. What do you find more challenging in your own life: (1) knowing God's will or (2) doing God's will?  How so?
  2. As you read the account of Job's trials (Job 1:13-21), what strikes you most about the hardship that entered into his life?
  3. In what ways can you relate to Job in his suffering?
  4. What does Job's response (Job 1:20-21) reveal about his heart?
  5. What would it take for you, in the midst of hardship, to be able to say with Job "the Lord gives, the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord"?
  6. What area of your life do you most need to surrender to God? What would that look like?
  7. What might happen in your life if you started praying "your will be done on earth as it is heaven"?  In other words what changes might come if you really surrendered to the Lord?
