Sermon Summary

In the sermon this week Pastor Billy explores one of Paul’s greatest miracles, the raising a of a young man from the dead.  We will explore the real significance of this miracle.

Discussion Questions

  1. Visiting Troas was not on Paul’s original itinerary (v.3). In light of what happened in Troas, why is this a significant detail?
  2. How do you tend to respond when your plans are interrupted?  How would you like to respond?
  3. From this passage, what are some things we learn about how the early church worshipped? What do you think it would have been like to have been present with the believers in Troas on this occasion?
  4. How is Eutychus’ death and resurrection a divine object lesson?  What truths do you think the believers of Troas learned from this incident?
  5. As with many of the miracles recorded in Acts, the raising of Eutychus took place in the context of preaching the word.  Why is this an important observation?  What do you think is God’s purpose in performing miracles?
